Finding A Beach Wedding Dress For Informal Surroundings

Published by Jennifer under Wedding Dresses

For the bride-to-be planning a less formal wedding on the beach or on a boat, they will not want a dress that drags in the sand, but at the same time they want a beach wedding dress that they can be proud to wear on their wedding day. While some may choose a simple sheath in light materials, possibly the best choice for a beach wedding dress will be one with an empire design.

With the skirt beginning to fall from just below the breasts, the length can be short enough to stay off the sand during the ceremony while giving the impression of a full-length gown. Obviously, the use of a train is out of the question when getting married on the beach, and with an empire style beach wedding dress the bride can still look resplendent in her choice of gowns.

While beach weddings or those less formal affairs taking place in a park or in the backyard can be just as meaningful as a traditional church wedding, it is becoming more popular for couples to be married in their favorite surroundings. Additionally, there may be budgetary constraints place on the couple or their parents and most beach wedding dress options are considerably less expensive that gowns used in more traditional weddings.

Find The Dress That Matches Bride’s Personality

There are many aspects of choosing a beach wedding dress and the attitude of the bride is probably the most important. Obviously they may be a little more free-spirited or even whimsical in choosing a beach wedding to begin with. The type of beach wedding dress she chooses should still allow the class and devotion of the ceremony to shine through yet not be so formal as to appear out of place.

Consider the weather when choosing a gown as many times the heat can be unbearable on the beach. The beach wedding dress should be made of light, flowing fabric to help the bride tolerate the heat of the day, as well as the reception to follow. If the weather turns chilly after the ceremony, a light shawl or jacket can be matched to the dress to make the bride more comfortable.

The important thing about the choice of any gown, even a beach wedding dress is that it is tailored to the bride and is of a style and design that accents the positive aspects of her stature. Before buying any beach wedding dress, take a few minutes a get a picture in mind about how the wedding photos will look a few years down the road. If the imagined image is positive, it is probably the right choice.

Searching for Perfection: Finding a Beautiful Wedding Gown

Published by Jennifer under Wedding Gowns

Buying a beautiful wedding gown can be a challenge for many brides. So many girls dream of their wedding from the time they are a little girl that it is hard to transform the dress from their dreams to a dress in a store. But with a little bit of research, finding a beautiful wedding gown is a piece of cake.

What Style of Dress Do You Want?

The first step in finding your beautiful wedding gown is to determine what style of dress you would like. There are five basic styles of wedding gowns, all beautiful and elegant. Choose a style that fits your personality, flatters your body type, and will make you feel like a princess on you wedding day. A-line dresses are fitted around the bodice, and flare out at the waist (like the shape of the letter “A”). A-line dresses are sometimes called “princess dresses”, and are one of the most popular styles of dresses. Another popular style of wedding gowns is the ball gown.

A ball gown dress looks like something out of a fairy tale – a tight fitted bodice with a full skirt. The third style of wedding dress is an empire dress, which features an empire waistline. An empire waistline starts right under the bust line, and flows down the rest of the dress. This is a classic and beautiful wedding gown style. A more modern style is the sheath or column dress. This dress has a straight line all the way down, and is extremely flattering on smaller brides. Finally, there is the mermaid style of wedding gown, which is a fitted dress with a skirt that flares at the knee.

Necklines and Sleeves

All five styles support different necklines and sleeves; you can mix and match to find the dress that looks best on you. Bateau, halter, scoop, square, and v-neck necklines all make for beautiful wedding gowns. Try on dresses with a variety of necklines to see what flatters your features the best. You also need to decide what type of sleeves you want on your dress.

Some of this may be determined by when you are getting married (long sleeves might not be comfortable for a summer wedding!) or where you are getting married (some churches do not allow strapless dresses). Strapless dresses are extremely popular right now. Spaghetti straps and sleeveless designs also make beautiful wedding gowns. You can also find beautiful wedding gowns with short sleeves, ¾ length sleeves, and long sleeves.

Choosing Wedding Dress Requires Basic Research

Published by Jennifer under Wedding Dresses

Today’s predominant features of a traditional wedding dress is reminiscent of the Victorian age and has been since the 1904’s when brides began to shun the practice of wearing a wedding dress that copied the designs of popular culture. While the dress was made of white material, not all designs were appreciated for such an auspicious occasion and brides began to revert back to the more elaborate and ornate styles.

Most brides-to-be will head out to the store and sort through racks of wedding dress designs without a clear picture of what they are looking for in a gown. Before spending a lot of time in a dress shop, the bride should envision what they hope to look like on their wedding day. With that picture in mind, consider the different style available in a wedding dress and learn a little of the language involved to better relay your desired style to the shop.

Consider that most dresses styles are determined what many call the silhouette. This describes the cut of the wedding dress and how it falls to the floor. For example, ball gowns will look god on all but the very short person, on whom the gown may seem overwhelming. Crinolines will also be part of most ball gowns and they usually have a lot of fabric requiring extra care while wearing them.

Sometimes Simpler Is Better

For a wedding dress that isn’t as full as a ball gown yet has the material flow, an “A” line gown can fit most everyone. The fitted bodice flows from the waist and can be useful in hiding lower-body irregularities. With an empire gown, the skirt begins right under the breasts and falls from there to the floor. Empire style dresses are better suited for less formal weddings and provide extra fit at the stomach.

A sheath style wedding dress is usually made of thinner fabric and will not hide any flaws on any part of the body. Typically worn by brides with a slender, consistent build they are not recommended for those who may have flaws from the waist down.

The primary factor in the choice of a wedding dress will be the budget of the bride. With some gowns costing in the hundreds and even thousands of dollars, it is important the bride look their very best on their wedding day, but it should also be considered that this is a garment that person will usually wear once.
